The Shelter

The JSPCA is Jerusalem’s largest animal shelter organization. The Society runs a shelter in the Atarot industrial area of Jerusalem – a shelter which has been in continuous operation since 1970

About Us

The Jerusalem Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals is a registered non-profit organization. The Jerusalem Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals was founded during the period of the British Mandate.

Mission

Our work is focused on alleviating our city’s tragic pet overpopulation by spaying and neutering all homeless cats and dogs in the Jerusalem Greater Area. We envision a city in which pets are not destroyed just because they are homeless, and most importantly a city where pets do not reproduce like breeding machines when there are already so many without homes.

Dog of the week

Eden is sort of shy, but she is young and will come around in the right setting.

Cat of the week

Ginger is a one year old male cat who was brought to us as a kitten and is looking for a wonderful and affectionate home.
